Y!P Search Results

This example shows a Search Results page with Profiles in the default view. Prior to the new design changes this page showed search results/profiles with a horizontal orientation. Therefore, the user would usually only see two profiles above the page fold. The new design allows the user to see four profiles without scrolling. The updated profile display format is also easier for users to scan.

Why Design Portamento?

Portamento is a musical term that means: a smooth uninterrupted glide in passing from one tone to another. Music influences many of my designs and this term relates to one of the principles of good user experience design — to glide from one interaction to another. Hence, I use the term portamento for this design blog.
