Y!P Signed In Home Page (new)

Here's the new and improved Signed In Home Page implemented under my direction. It has a completely updated color palette, wide page format, 'one-click matching', and a new carousel interaction for browsing profiles. The underlying design principle was to bring important and popular functionality closer to the user (i.e. things that had been buried in the site and were therefore difficult for users to find were now surfaced on the home page).

Why Design Portamento?

Portamento is a musical term that means: a smooth uninterrupted glide in passing from one tone to another. Music influences many of my designs and this term relates to one of the principles of good user experience design — to glide from one interaction to another. Hence, I use the term portamento for this design blog.
